Looking for a Volunteer

We are looking for someone who has about 2 hours to spare twice a month to help faciliate our Older Mens Group.

They meet on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the Month at Tesco, Eastgate in the community room on the upper floor (near the cafe) and it would be great if someone could volunteer to ensure that the room is open and ready for them by Tesco Customer services and that there are refreshments laid out by Tesco's.

The timing would be from 11am - 1pm and the facilitator can sit and chat to the men. Sometimes we organise speakers to come and speak to the men on subjects as diverse as health, community services, local politics and university students and the facilitator can be on hand to ensure everything runs on time and the men leave safely.

We can provide travel expenses.

This would be a great opportunity to engage with older South Asian men and learn more about their culture.  Language would not be an issue as they can all speak some English and they are very good at giving peer support to each other, this helps to build their resilience and independence.

Please contact Naheed Kausar or Zehra Haq on 0117 9146671 or 9146672 to discuss further.
